Please follow these aftercare instructions thoroughly to preserve the overall look of your tattoo and to prevent infection.
- If your artist applied a clear adhesive bandage leave the bandage on for a minimum of 24 hours. You can leave the bandage on for a couple additional days if desired. To remove bandage first dampen the surface. Then find a loose corner and gently pull downward, the bandage will slowly release from skin. Continue with aftercare.
- If your artist applied an absorbent pad with coban wrap leave the bandage on overnight. Remove the bandage the following morning and start your aftercare.
- Wash your hands thoroughly with an anti-bacterial soap for 20 seconds before handling your tattoo.
- Gently hand wash your tattoo with an unscented anti-bacterial soap.
- Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor, this product is a healing ointment that aids in the healing process as well as provide adequate moisture that will prevent against dryness and scabbing.
- Repeat this process twice daily for four weeks or until the tattoo is fully healed.
- After the first couple of weeks you can trade the Aquaphor with a dermatologist recommended unscented lotion if preferred.
- Tattoos generally take 4-6 weeks to fully heal, but healing varies person to person.
